The Rales Fellows Program supports graduate students pursuing eligible STEM master’s and doctoral degrees at Carnegie Mellon University. The program combines significant financial support with mentorship, professional development, leadership training, and a cohort-based experience.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient
- Applying to an eligible, in-person STEM graduate program on CMU’s Pittsburgh campus
- Received a Federal Pell Grant or need-based financial aid as an undergraduate or is a first-generation college student
Application Components:
- Application to an eligible CMU graduate program
- Separate Rales Fellow Candidacy Application
- Short essays addressing alignment with the Rales Fellows attributes and interest in STEM
- Letter of recommendation addressing leadership and commitment to goals
