Using the Research Opportunities Database

Research mentors at Penn State (i.e., graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty and research staff) can use this form to create and share opportunities related to undergraduate research that will be included in our searchable database. Mentors already using this database can update existing postings here.

Please select whether you are interested in creating a specific or general posting. You are welcome to create multiple postings. You must be logged into your URFM account to post opportunities.

  • Specific Posting - A specific posting is intended to advertise openings in an existing research group or for an on-going project or grant. For example, use this posting type if you are looking for an undergraduate to help test participants in a Psychology study or to help with computer and microcontroller programming.
  • General Posting - A general posting is intended to indicate that you are available to mentor students whose interests align with your expertise through independent studies, a volunteer basis, etc. This posting type should also be used to indicate if you have general research tasks for which you would like undergraduate support.

Please email us at if you have a question about your posting.
