Funding Undergraduate Researchers

Funding is available for undergraduate researchers, particularly when they are conducting their own project rather than assisting a mentor on an existing project. For example, Erickson Discovery Grants fund student-initiated projects over the summer and the grants offered through the Student Engagement Network fund engagement experiences, including undergraduate research and unpaid internships. Individual departments, colleges, and campuses may also have grant funding available.

Additionally, funding is available for undergraduates who are presenting the results of research or creative work at professional conferences. Please refer to the Undergraduate Research Conference Presentation Support page for more information.

Some campuses offer additional funding opportunities. For campus-specific resources, please visit the Getting Help section.
