Joining the Scholarly Conversation

When starting a research project or deciding on a research idea, you want to have a sense of the conversation you're joining. This workshop will help you feel confident in reviewing and reading scholarly articles and give you a series of questions you can ask as you enter the scholarly conversation on your topic. This workshop is meant for students who have just begun an undergraduate research experience or students who are interested in starting an experience and want to make sure they have the tools and mindsets they need to succeed.

Danica, who is the Student Engagement Librarian at Penn State University-University Park campus, will be leading this presentation. In this role, Danica serves as a liaison to student organizations and student groups, collaborates with colleagues and students to build upon their academic relationships, and helps to coordinate library support for undergraduate research. Danica’s research interests include diversity & social justice, information access in academic libraries, undergraduate research, and engaging student organizations.
