Penn State Scranton's annual Undergraduate Research Fair and Exhibition will still take place this year, albeit in a different format than usual. This year's event will be held virtually, using technology to showcase students' work and accomplishments.

Deadlines extended for Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award
Penn State University Libraries has extended the submission and notification deadlines for the ninth annual Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award, to be presented May 7.
Lehigh Valley students virtually present research on impact of e-cigarettes
Three Penn State Lehigh Valley undergraduate students presented their research on the behavioral and academic impacts of e-cigarette usage among college students to a panel of judges via Zoom. The group’s scientific poster was one of 12 highlighted during the symposium.
Two IST undergraduate researchers present at iConference
Two undergraduate researchers from the College of Information Sciences and Technology were invited to present their work in Boras, Sweden, this week at iConference 2020 — a forum through which information scholars, researchers and professionals share their insights on critical information issues in contemporary society. The conference has now been moved to a virtual format.

Penn State Greater Allegheny student Curran McCune was awarded the University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award for his research on Chinese views on LGBTQ+ issues, as illustrated by poetry.

Aspiring neurosurgeon mapping cancer-suppressing protein
Penn State engineering student and Schreyer Scholar Madison Evans is mapping a tumor suppressor protein found in glioblastoma cells with potential implications for improved cancer treatments.
Student registration open for research and engagement expo at New Kensington
Current Penn State New Kensington students are invited to register for the annual Research and Student Engagement Expo scheduled for April 7. Students will be able to see and present research projects and meet with business and industry leaders about internship and job opportunities.
