Undergrad research and fellowships workshops slated for spring 2022

Virtual workshops are scheduled throughout the spring semester for students looking to get involved in undergraduate research and apply for competitive fellowships, scholarships and grants.

Erickson Discovery Grants open for summer 2022 funding

Students from all academic fields and Penn State campuses are encouraged to apply for a 2022 Erickson Discovery Grant to fund student-initiated projects next summer. Grants provide $3,500 toward living expenses and project costs. Student projects of all kinds are welcome: the arts, engineering, humanities, sciences and social sciences.

Eberly College's undergraduate research exhibition a success

On Oct. 7, the Penn State Eberly College of Science hosted the fall 2021 Undergraduate Research Poster Exhibition as part of its new Diversity in STEM Corporate Partners Program and in conjunction with the college’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Organized and run by Emily Bell, coordinator of undergraduate research for the Eberly college’s Office of Science Engagement, the exhibition featured approximately 40 student participants, from whom 10 winners were chosen in three categories, and was adjudicated by 20 Penn State faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and staff.


Initiative seeks to enhance undergraduates' involvement in humanities research

A daylong symposium on Oct. 15, “Rethinking Undergraduate Research in the Humanities,” will kick off an initiative that seeks to increase undergraduate students' engagement in humanities research at Penn State.
