2023 Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award finalists, winner named

Penn State University Libraries and the Schreyer Honors College recognized three finalists and named Casey Sennett, Paterno Fellow and Schreyer Scholar, the grand prize winner of the 12th annual Robert F. Guentter Jr. Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award  on Thursday, May 4, in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library, and online via Zoom, immediately following the three finalists’ presentations.

Four Penn Staters named finalists for 2023-24 Fulbright U.S. Student Award

Penn State students and alumni will travel abroad for the 2023–24 school year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Each year, the U.S. Department of State works with its 140 partner countries to give graduating college seniors, graduate students and young professionals the opportunity to work, live and learn abroad. 


Penn State Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium winners announced

Two students from Penn State York took first place at the 12th annual Penn State Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 22 at the York campus. The event featured 38 projects from across eight campuses.


New undergraduate research program available to Commonwealth Campus students

A new research program for students will be launched this coming fall: The Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses Undergraduate Student Research Fund aims to support student-led projects in different fields. Participants will acquire hands-on experience in research, scholarship, and artistic efforts. They will be responsible for creating their own research problems, study proposals, methodologies, and presenting their findings.


Penn State junior Vancie Peacock named 2023 Udall Scholar

Vancie Peacock, a Penn State junior majoring in biological engineering, has been awarded a 2023 Udall Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes U.S. college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service and commitment to Native American issues or the environment.


Two Penn State undergraduates earn national Goldwater Scholarship

Penn State sophomores Yuki Yoshida and Kueyoung Kim have earned the 2023 Goldwater Scholarship. 


Student presents research on Black men’s dating choices at national conference

Through working on his early stage undergraduate research project, Penn State Abington senior Dante Thomas is developing skills that are transferable to graduate school and a variety of careers.


Penn State York to host Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium

Students from eight campuses will take part in the Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium to share their work in a poster exhibition on Saturday, April 22, from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the conference center at Penn State York. 


Altoona hosts annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Fair

The event offers students a chance to share their research projects and other creative activities with the campus community, friends, and family members through oral presentations, poster presentations, and performances.
