This research investigates implicit gender bias in engineering design teams. Research in engineering design has pointed to significant biases that can affect the quality of design processes. There is little research that confronts implicit bias either on the fidelity of the project outcomes that are produced. To do this Engineers took surveys on their attitudes on implicit biases and monitored behavior during controlled design experiences. We hope these findings will impact diversity in engineering.
