Abigail Yacoub

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess how type of family relationship and forms of family support (instrumental and relational-emotional) influence psychological distress among commuter college students and how year in college and sociodemographic factors affect this influence. Results: On average, participants exhibited high distress. The closer the family relationship, the less distress exhibited. Likewise, the more relational-emotional support from family, the less distress exhibited.
