Studying the propulsion of particle adsorbed emulsion systems

Leonardo Batista Capaverde Silva

The self-propulsion of droplets in a liquid can lead to various applications, with one notable example being drug delivery methods that can target specific regions of our body such as tumors. In this research, a new way to boost the speed of the droplets is discovered, and the possible mechanisms - Marangoni flow enhancement due to partial particle blockage - behind this enhancement are hypothesized.
