Antibiotic resistance is a big problem because it results in untreatable infections and diseases. Natural products derived from soil samples were isolated and screened for their antibacterial properties against various bacterial species. Fluorescence and luminescence reporter assays were used to assess inhibition of translation. Compound KB-EA-002 killed Bacillus anthracis cells and inhibited translation in vitro. These findings help in the fight against antibiotic resistance through the discovery of new antibacterial drug candidates from natural sources.
