I'm a third-year Biology major at Penn State Harrisburg. I previously completed an MC-REU project on the In Vitro Direct Organogenesis of Industrial Hemp. I participated in and was awarded an honorable mention in the University Libraries Research Award for Excellence in Information Literacy for my poster on Stimulation of Cardiomyogenesis by CRISPR Cas9 Approach.

I am currently conducting research in REDD1 expression in skeletal muscle and cardiovascular tissue. I also received the American Heart Association Undergraduate Student Fellowship Program in Cardiovascular Disease.

I can provide peer mentoring in identifying research interests and research opportunities. I can also help you contact potential research faculty. I would be happy to advise on application processes for various fellowships including REUs. I can also aid in poster preparation and other academic writings. Please feel free to reach out to me with any and all undergraduate research related inquiries!

Project Title:
Effects of Caloric Restriction on Diet-Induced Obesity-related REDD1 Protein Expression and Cardiac Dysfunction
Project Description:
We are looking to identify the role of caloric restriction in mitigating the effects of diet-induced obesity on expression levels of REDD1 protein in cardiovascular tissue and how this reflects on overall cardiac function. We also research the role of REDD1 expression in muscle atrophy as well as in insulin metabolism and diabetes.
