An Evaluation of Slides Prepared for Cervical Anomaly for Use in Missing Person Cases

In Forensic Science cases, sometimes a female victim goes missing. DNA profiles obtained from bloodstains or cigarette butts retrieved from the crime scene cannot be compared to her profile due to lack of reference samples. In these cases, specimens such as routinely preserved Papanicolaou test slides can be used as the reference sample (intimate source). In this research, complete DNA profiles were generated from stained Papanicolaou smear slides using direct amplification and extracted DNA
