Comorbid Depressive and Post-traumatic Stress Symptoms of Maltreated Youth

Elizabeth Waugh

In this study, I aim to evaluate the common symptoms between Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD exhibited within a representative sample of maltreated youth. My goal is to add to the underdeveloped study of child maltreatment and potential subsequent mental health disorders. I hypothesize that experiences of child maltreatment (physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect) will be associated with a series of comorbid depressive and posttraumatic stress symptoms.
