An Experiment Studying the Impacts of Noise Pollution on Eastern Bluebird Vocalizations

by Jacob Cramer
During Spring and Summer 2018, experimental treatment simulating constant noise pollution associated with natural gas compressor stations was applied to selected eastern bluebird nest sites at Penn State's Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center. Remote recording devices and analytical software were used to detect differences in vocalizations between control (quiet) and treatment (compressor noise) sites.
