Investigation of Two-Phase Flow Around a Porous Cylinder

Mathew John Kurian

This study is aimed at understanding the effects of two-phase flow over bluff bodies. Of particular interest are cylindrical surfaces, while also looking at their wakes formed and studying the resulting drag on the body. The two-phase flow condition is used to simulate a boiling system with the cylinder being the heated surface where vapour bubbles would form with the overall goal of identifying the optimum body that can maximize heat transfer while minimizing drag.
