Release from proactive interference? Memory for words in segmentally similar contexts

by Daniel Wheeler
Interference effects on memory for words in a Brown-Peterson paradigm as a function of segmental overlap in terms of the presence of orthographic and phonological constituents were investigated. Results are interpreted within a working memory model assuming observed improvement in recall reflects a decrement in interference.
