The goal is to develop a ground-penetrating sub-harmonic radar to track nesting of pollinators by investigating the stresses’ impacts on population of pollinators. The focus is to develop MATLAB and HFSS simulations to identify the constitutive parameters (permeability and permittivity) based on the properties of the soil (humidity, silt, clay, sand concentration) to find the complex constant of propagation. With these parameters, it is possible to test several frequencies and achieve an efficient link.
