Emergency Evacuation Management utilizing Moving Object Simulation

by Xiaoru Shi
To best utilize the resources of public facilities for emergency evacuation, a comprehensive and effective simulation model is needed to analyze the traffic efficiency considering different behaviors and interactions of all moving objects, within a given transportation network under different emergency conditions. This study proposes a framework of evacuation simulation with a case study in University Park, PA, to illustrate the model feasibility, and potential evacuation policies are suggested based on results.
