The Power of Art in Sustainable Community Development

What are the direct and indirect economic, political, and social impacts of arts-based initiatives on communities? Mural Arts Philadelphia (MAP) is an arts-based initiative that appears to reflect key dimensions of sustainable community development. This research focuses on MAP as a case study to identify and analyze the direct and indirect impacts of arts-based initiatives in fostering personal, institutional, and community change grounded in the qualitative research method of the Most Significant Change Principle.
