Respect and Satisfaction in Same-Sex Romantic Relationships

Payton Holcomb

Respect has been investigated in heterosexual romantic relationships and friendships, but not in same-sex relationships. The purpose of this study is to expand on previous research looking at respect and relationship satisfaction among heterosexual relationships and compare it to that of same-sex relationships to find where they are similar or different. We expect lesbian couples to have higher levels of intimacy than gay or heterosexual couples and therefore, show higher levels of respect and satisfaction.
