This study examined the relationships between BMI, objectively-assessed physical fitness and self-reported average sleep duration among 58 healthy older adults. As hypothesized, greater BMI was associated with lower physical fitness (b = -.54, SE= .66, p < .05). After controlling for BMI and gender, sleep duration was not significantly associated with physical fitness (b = 0.79, SE = .66, p = .24). Implications of this research study will be discussed further.
