The COVID-19 pandemic has shuttered theaters, granting space to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re going. In my Students Teaching Students course this spring, I responded to calls for more equitable and inclusive theatre making practices by exploring the 21st century American Musical Theatre in search of an answer to questions being asked: whose stories are we telling and who is telling them?
