This poster examines the variation in state-level policies on climate change contributors, and what factors are most influential to their passage. I perform a nested analysis of several policies, including renewable portfolio standards, greenhouse gas reductions targets, and cap-and-trade policies. I find that political factors (liberal public opinion and Democratic state government control) are strongest in the determination of climate change action, with significant climate-related natural disasters and industry lobbying playing secondary roles.
