In using data from the U.S. Mortality Database and state policy datasets, the research explores the policy areas of Medicaid, education, minimum wage, the environment and their impact on public health outcomes. The findings suggest that liberal policies correlate with higher life expectancy due to the focus on welfare initiatives.
