You’re invited!  A research group called the Pitch Exploration Lab meets weekly each semester.  This space is intended for undergraduates or graduates from any major on campus to explore music/brain/psychology topics but we especially welcome research questions related to pitch processing and psycho-motor activity.  Students from Acoustics, Psychology, Neuroscience and all other majors are welcome, as well as students with any background coursework or experience in statistics.  Please contact the lab director, Dr. Bryan Nichols at bnichols@psu.edu for more information.

Description of responsibilities and minimum qualifications: 

Opporutunities for helping with Research Design, Data Collection, Data Analysis (including applications of statistics).  Weekly lab meetings provide an opportunity to present your own ideas, or to contribute to projects already running in the lab.  Read past papers at: https://pel.psu.edu

Minimum Qualifications: 

Some members will have taken PSYCH 100 and some have taken STAT 2XX or 4XX courses.  Neither of these is required, but you are encouraged to do some googling on working memory (and all types of memory constructs) and come to our first meeting knowing the definition of a “construct.”

Other Requirements: 

Attendance and seeking mentoring in weekly lab meetings is encouraged and required.  Lab meeting times are determined by the student members at the beginnin of each semester.
