Shea Lab Summer Undergraduate Research Assistant

We would like to hire one undergraduate research assistant for summer 2025 to help a graduate student conduct field research on invasive weeds. Project themes include weed management, early-life stress, and the influence of climate variables on both factors.

This project will run from ~May 26, 2025 - August 8, 2025, with some flexibility in start and end dates depending on availability. We can offer pay ($15/hour) or independent study credit as preferred.

Description of responsibilities and minimum qualifications: 

This job will require some outdoor field work, including plant care and data collection, and indoor data entry. Greenhouse/growth chamber work may also be incorporated, as well as a landscape-level driving survey of central PA. Due to the place-based nature of this project, availability in State College for the duration of the project is required.

Depending on time, we may conduct some statistical analyses of our data, but no prior experience with statistical analysis is required. Basic biology/ecology knowledge preferred.

Availability for 40 hours/week is preferred.
