The Survey Research Center (SRC) provides high-quality, cost-effective survey research services to faculty around the University. The SRC is part of the Penn State Social Science Research Institute and supports interdisciplinary research that addresses critical human and social problems at the local, national, and international levels. For 20 years, the SRC has played a central role in data collection efforts with Penn State faculty, research scientists, and graduate students. In any given year, the SRC supports over 50 projects from across the university and larger research community. Services range from developing, designing, conducting and evaluating scientific surveys of the general public, to targeting specific populations such as high school students, business managers, cancer survivors, teachers, or individuals enrolled in specific interventions or clinical trials. The SRC works with a wide variety of formats including telephone, mail, internet, interviews, focus groups, and field surveys.
We are currently seeking students to join our team on a part-time basis. If you are interested in being involved with social and behavioral science research, reach out to see what openings we currently have.
Responsibilities will vary based on current project needs. Many undergraduate students who work with us make calls for our telephone-based surveys, which requires a commitment of 8 hours a week, an ability to follow a written protocol, and talking to participants from all walks of life.
Please contact Amanda Ferrara at amf5545@psu.edu if this opportunity interests you. We will set up a time to speak and go from there!
