Claire Kelling

Claire Kelling, from Morrow, OH, is pursuing a dual-title doctorate in Statistics and Social Data Analytics. Among a long list of distinctions, including national leadership on the issue of sexual violence and two invitations to the White House in 2016, Claire is also a Rhodes Regional Finalist. She credits the fellowship application process for Rhodes and the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship with encouraging her to get involved in with research earlier and to find her academic passion.

“Claire has the background, energy, ability, and even the already-established personal connections to succeed. She has shown an amazing level of leadership and gone way beyond the typical expectations of a first-year graduate student,” says Dr. David Hunter, head of the Department of Statistics.
